I am a firm believer that for many separating couples, mediation and/or collaborative family law
offer the best opportunity to create a tailor-made, lasting, fair solution to the issues facing them,
through a process that enables them to maintain or salvage their respect and dignity, and be heard,
in an extremely difficult period of their lives.

About John Goodwin
I have been a practicing Family Lawyer since 1975, a Family Mediator since 1982 and a Collaborative Family Law Lawyer since 2002.
As the first President of the Ontario Association for Family Mediation in 1982 and a continuing educator in alternative dispute resolution,
I have long been a proponent of the non-adversarial resolution of issues that arise when families restructure during separation and divorce.
The focus of my practice is now on achieving fair and effective settlements for my clients without going to court. This is the aim of the Family Mediation and Collaborative Family Law processes.
